FIRST THE BAD NEWS IT ISN'T OUT YET.
Unfortunately there has ben a necessary delay in the production of "Spintale"'s first CD above, but we hope to be in a position to tell you it's ready soon. In the meantime I'll keep you up to date with postings on this page.
SECOND THE GOOD NEWS. WE'RE SO EXCITED ABOUT IT WHEN IT IS.
Adapted by "Spintale" from the stories of John Matthews and recorded jointly by "Resonance Studios" and "Grove of Seven", the long awaited CD of "The Song of Taliesin" brings together an exciting audio enactment of the original stage performance by Steve Gladwin with the added inspiration of Somerset storyteller, musician and producer Jem Dick and storyteller and musician Sharon Jacksties.
"The Song of Taliesin" is the first performance to be produced by "Spintale" whose intent is to bring the excitement of live performance to audio storytelling. This double CD will include story, drama, exciting and often weird and wonderful effects, and a variety of instruments both ancient and modern including Swans wing flute, Deer bone flute, Oseophone, Ocean Harp, Cedar Wood flute and many others.
In "The Song of Taliesin" you will encounter a variety of characters including Taliesin himself before and after his transformation, The Old One Ceridwen, The Dark Lord Arawn, the wicked Maelgwyn Gwynedd , and the Lady herself. Not to mention some very strange bards indeed.
The story includes adaptations of several of John's stories from the book including The Cauldron Born, The Defence of the Chair, The Journey to Annwn, and Steve's own version of the Maelgwyn Gwynedd story.
The CD is dedicated to the memory and inspiration of Cecilia Gladwin Eve who appeared in several performances before her passing in 2006.
